NavDP 4000 DP2 Control System Successfully Installed and Commissioned on MPSV SWIFT of CAMGSA
Navis Engineering has successfully completed the installation and commissioning of a dynamic control positioning system on board the MPSV SWIFT, operating in the Gulf of Mexico.
The project was carried out on behalf of our valued partner Proesa Electrónica for the vessel owner CAMGSA, and included the dismantling of the outdated system and installation of a new NavDP 4000 DP CS. The scope of work also covered full commissioning, interface testing with existing navigation and control systems, integration with DGPS, HPR system, gyrocompasses, VRS and wind sensors, as well as complete verification of all operational modes.
Classed by DNV, the SWIFT is a multipurpose supply vessel (MPSV) used for transporting cargo and personnel to offshore platforms.
Commissioning activities were performed in close cooperation with the vessel’s crew and representatives of the shipowner. The system was successfully brought online and is now fully ready for high-precision offshore operations.
