Navis Engineering upgrades offshore support vessel Falco with DP control system
Navis Engineering Oy has successfully completed the installation of a Dynamic Positioning control system on the offshore support vessel Falco, operated by Righetti Navi.
Built as a fast supply and crew support vessel, Falco is designed for offshore platform support, personnel transfer and light logistics operations. With the integration of the Navis NavDP system, the vessel is now capable of maintaining precise position and heading automatically, significantly enhancing its operational performance.
As part of the retrofit, the vessel’s original control architecture required detailed analysis and adaptation, as the vessel had not been originally designed with DP integration in mind.
Navis engineers reconfigured key control interfaces and vessel systems to enable full compatibility with the DP control system, ensuring stable and reliable operation.
Through effective collaboration between Navis Engineering and the vessel operator, the installation and commissioning phases were executed seamlessly and completed in a notably short period.
